....·····.....·····/ \·····.....·····.... · . . · · . | Help on: Seraph | . · · . . · ····.....·····.....\ /.....·····.....···· Adjustments: +2 Piety, +1 Intelligence, -2 Strength, -1 Dexterity Compatible Classes: Bard, Cleric (Enoch), Druid, Fighter, Mage, Monk, Paladin (Enoch), Ranger, Rogue, Thief, Fighter/Mage, Thief/Mage, Mage/Thief General Seraphs are celestial-blooded beings, the offspring of divine messengers and mortals, created to stand against the growing tide of evil in Derlith. They are rare, enigmatic figures, often born into ordinary human lives, only to discover their divine heritage later in life. Many spend their early years feeling different - driven by an unseen force, plagued by dreams of celestial realms, or burdened by a sense of duty they do not yet understand. Marked by their unshakable faith and relentless nature, Seraphs are naturally drawn to holy callings, making them exceptional clerics, paladins, and mages. Their divine blood grants them an innate connection to magic, allowing them to wield sacred spells and divine power with ease. They are often stubborn and unyielding, seeing the world in terms of right and wrong, order and chaos, and many take on the responsibility of rooting out corruption and darkness wherever they find it. Above all, Seraphs despise Cambions, the demonic-blooded counterparts to their own celestial nature. This hatred runs deeper than mere rivalry - to a Seraph, Cambions represent everything that must be purged from the world. They will not hesitate to confront or hunt Cambions, viewing them as a direct affront to their very existence. Physical & Mental Traits Seraphs look human at first glance, but those who study them closely will notice subtle divine features - a faint glow to their skin, piercing eyes that seem to reflect the heavens, or an aura of calm authority that unsettles those with ill intent. Some Seraphs even develop minor celestial markings, such as golden veins, radiant sigils, or an ethereal shimmer in moonlight. Though blessed with divine resilience, they are not physically strong, often relying on faith, magic, and skill rather than brute force. They are highly intelligent, quick to grasp magical principles and theological teachings, but they are also rigid in their beliefs. A Seraph will never back down from what they believe is right, even if it leads them into dangerous situations. While they lack infravision, they have an uncanny ability to sense evil and deception, making them exceptional judges of character. Culture & Philosophy Seraphs are born, not raised, meaning they lack a central culture or homeland. However, many eventually find their place within religious orders, temples, or knightly sects, where their innate faith and magical abilities are put to use. Faith defines a Seraph¿s existence, and most follow Enoch, the god of light, order, and divine justice. They see themselves as instruments of righteousness, though this can sometimes lead to arrogance or inflexibility. Some Seraphs, however, struggle with their divine heritage, feeling burdened by expectations they never asked for. These outcasts often seek solitude, wandering as monks, scholars, or mercenaries, trying to find their own purpose beyond celestial decrees. One thing is constant among all Seraphs: hatred for Cambions. It is not merely a learned prejudice but a deep, instinctual revulsion. Even the most kind-hearted Seraph will struggle to control their fury when encountering a Cambion, as the two bloodlines are in eternal opposition. This can lead to conflict even among allies, as some may see the Seraph's hatred as excessive or blinding.
