General
Grey Elves are the isolated, enigmatic scholars of the elven race. Unlike 
their forest-dwelling kin, they build grand, hidden cities, standing as 
monuments to knowledge, magic, and refinement. The vast majority of these 
cities have high walls and are deeply isolated high up in various mountains. 
To a Grey Elf, learning is paramount, and no pursuit is as important as the 
collection, preservation, and mastery of all types of knowledge, whether 
arcane, historical, or divine - any knowledge.

Physical & Mental Traits
Grey Elves are tall, slender, and almost ethereal in presence. Their hair 
color ranges from silvery-white to pale gold, and it is very rarely ill kept, 
sometimes seeming to have a small glow about it. Their eyes are often violet, 
silver, or pale blue, with emerald-green or deep amber being very rare. They 
are physically fragile, lacking the endurance of most other races, but their 
razor-sharp intellect and agility more than compensate. Unlike High Elves, 
who embrace the arts and natural beauty, Grey Elves are devoted to scholarship, 
arcane study, and divine mysteries. They do still appreciate art in all of its 
forms. However, their tastes tend to fall less towards its natural aspects and 
more towards the practical and beautiful in general. Their natural affinity 
for magic and arcane weaponry makes them formidable mages or multi-class mages.

Culture & Philosophy
Knowledge is both an obsession and a weapon. Grey Elves see themselves as 
custodians of lost wisdom, hoarding ancient texts, magical artifacts, and 
divine secrets. They are extremely selective about who they associate with. 
Even other elves may be deemed too crude, too reckless, or too primitive for 
their company. They are considered by most other races to be extremely xenophobic, 
and with good reason! Isolation is necessary for their survival. They build 
their hidden cities in remote, often mystical locations, shielding themselves 
from the corruption and ignorance (and their general irritation) of the rest 
of the world outside of their realms. Age brings superiority, and it acts as
somewhat of a pecking order in their highly casted society. The older a Grey 
Elf, the more knowledge they possess - thus, the more respect they should and 
often do command.
