General
Duergar (often called "grey dwarves") are the ruthless, subterranean cousins of
mountain dwarves. Unlike their closer-to-the-surface dwelling kin, Duergar thrive
deep in the Underdark, where war, ambition, and greed shape every aspect of their
existence. However, on rare occasion, a Duergar will travel out of the Underdark
to further their sinister ambitions.

Physical & Mental Traits
Duergar always have grey white to dark grey skin, along with pure white or black
hair/beards. Their eyes are most commonly grey or black, but they also can more
rarely be red, deep indigo, or a sickly yellowish-amber. Like mountain dwarves,
they possess great strength and endurance, but Duergar are even stronger, built
for the harsh realities of their world. However, their rigid militaristic society
has no place for gods or divine faith, making them notably less pious than other
dwarven races. While they share their kin's love for mining, craftsmanship, and
good ale, they are twice as greedy and far more ruthless, sinsiter, and aggressive.

Culture & Philosophy
Duergar society is built on dominance and power. The weak exist only to be crushed
by the strong. Clans are everything. A Duergar will prioritize the advancement of
their clan above all else - even at the expense of rival clans, their own kin, or
immediate family members. They do not fight for honor or justice. They fight to
conquer, survive, and hoard wealth.
